The first set of bra straps I ever purchased cost about $12.
I bought one in silver and one in gold.  Both were embellished with small
crystal rhinestones, which I believe were glued on.  By buying one in each
color I had all of my bases covered regarding which outfit I would wear
them with.  I wore them each about 2 times before they broke.

The next set of bra straps I bought were purchased from a very well known
lingerie store and cost around $18.  I only had one style to choose from,  
pink with crystal rhinestones.  The bra straps really didn't go with any of my
outfits, however I was leaving for Vegas and had no other choice.  This set
of bra straps was supposed to last me the entire weekend.  They didn't!  
They broke while I was eating dinner at a very elegant restaurant with my
husband.  Luckily, he's the MacGyver type and was able to hold me
together until after dessert.

Since that experience I decided to start making my own.  It took some trial
and error before I got it right.  My bra straps stand up to over 25 pounds of
pressure and
DO NOT BREAK.
